Who We Are
We provide advocacy services that are deeply empathetic to the needs of our clients, recognising that navigating employment disputes can be a particularly stressful time for individuals and their families. We understand that these challenges extend beyond the individual, impacting their overall well-being. We prioritise active listening and strive to remain non-judgmental throughout the process.
Although we are based in Christchurch, our expertise extends across New Zealand and various industries. We have a specialisation in Early Childhood Education, where we are recognised experts.
Additionally, we are committed to supporting neurodiverse clients who may require extra assistance in navigating employment disputes. We have established connections with specific resources to provide tailored support in these areas.
As part of our commitment to responsible business practices, we plant a tree for every successful case handled. This reflects our belief that businesses should contribute positively to the wider community and environment.
Meet Your Employment Resolution Advocates

How our process works
Start your journey with us with a complimentary 30-minute consultation. This session evaluates your claim, whether it involves pursuing a personal grievance, navigating a disciplinary process, or filing a bullying complaint for a disadvantage claim.
For more detailed assessments involving document reviews and in-depth outlines, a consultation fee of $200 applies. This covers the time-intensive nature of these evaluations and results in a comprehensive report.
Once a personal grievance is raised, the next step is often mediation. However, settlements can sometimes be reached without it.
Mediation offers a confidential and impartial setting where both parties can negotiate a resolution. Unlike formal hearings, mediation is less detailed and allows for more flexible discussions. Mediation is confidential. If a resolution is reached, a legally binding Record of Settlement is signed, including confidentiality and non-disparagement clauses.

Client Reviews and Testimonials
I have known and worked well with Maryline Suchley and Employment Resolution Consultants for a few years now on work related issues, and have also recommended her to other work colleagues with great successes when they have needed employment advice or full support. We have had a brilliant working relationship over this time, still do to this day, I often message or ring her for advice. Her employment law knowledge is vast, with huge experience at the escalation levels. This shows with good results and satisfied clients. But she is also grounded fair honest and frank when needed. Employment Resolution Consultants is a real employment advocacy service, but without the high costs and almost impersonal service one might receive at some law firms. I cannot recommend Maryline and ERC to people needing employment advice- support enough.
Maryline was incredibly knowledgeable and supportive, achieving a great outcome for me. She understood the emotional toll of employment issues and supported me not just legally, but personally, throughout the entire process.
Maryline of Employment Resolution Consultants provided exceptional support and expert advice, resulting in a positive outcome for me. She recognised the significant personal and emotional impact of employment issues and supported me every step of the way, offering both legal expertise and genuine care throughout the process.
Maryline from Employment Resolution Consultants was incredibly supportive and knowledgeable, achieving a great outcome for me. More importantly, she supported me through the emotional roller coaster that employment issues can bring. She truly understood the personal impact of the situation and was both my legal advocate and my emotional support throughout the entire process
Maryline helped me when I was bullied out of my job. I was well supported, listened to and treated with kindness. I felt safe with Maryline which is important when traumatised by bullying. If you're looking for an advocate who is knowledgeable, honest and acts with integrity then you need Maryline
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your support, guidance, and professionalism throughout this process. Your clarity, patience, and steady reassurance during a challenging time were greatly appreciated. I also appreciated the way you took the time to explain things clearly and advocate on my behalf. Knowing I had you in my corner gave me a sense of confidence and relief when things felt overwhelming. I am grateful for your commitment, expertise, and the respect you showed me throughout. Thank you again for all that you have done. Ngā mihi nui
I contacted Maryline after being unfairly dismissed and was feeling extremely stressed and overwhelmed by the situation. From our first conversation, she was very professional, highly knowledgeable, and reassuring. She took the time to explain the process clearly, answered all of my questions, and made sure I understood my options. Her calm, confident approach made a difficult experience far more manageable, and i felt supported throughout the entire process. I am very grateful for her assistance and would highly recommend her to anyone needing employment law advice!
Maryline has been one of the very few advocates to actively support employees in the Early Childhood Education sector. Not only has she represented at mediations and Employment Relations Authority, she listens, always puts the client first, gives free advice, and has educated us on Employment Law. The ECE sector is sadly unrepresented and known for bullying practices. Maryline is a champion against injustice.
